Hosted by the Minnesota Office of Combative Sports and the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Department of Athletic Regulation. This two-day course will bypass the basics of officiating and instead focus on establishing proven referee mechanics, theoretical problem-solving, judging criteria, and the "why" behind what every MMA official must know and do. You'll learn how to establish yourself as an evolving official who understands not only the black and white of officiating, but also all of the gray in between. This three-day intensive course is designed to train participants to become Mixed Martial Arts referees and judges. This course covers the Unified Rules and practical applications of referee skills, including pre-fight meetings, cage control and knowledge, rule implementation, fundamental skills application, and other fight day requirements. This course also covers all the material learned in the Judging Course.
